Lyndon Price

Our home group meets fortnightly on Tuesday evenings during term time from 8:00-9:30pm.  We like to use a variety of ways to study – to keep us all on out toes – and to improve our knowledge of the Bible.  From our study, we aim to find the relevance for us to today and use it to give us guidance and encouragement.
We believe that it is important for us, as a group, to be supportive of one another and to grow together in our relationships; whilst at the same time nurturing our faith to enable us to grow into the people God wants us to be.
We are very open and welcoming to new members, so if you are interested in coming along to see whether you like what we do and meet us then please call Lyndon Price on 01403 750445 or contact Rachael in the Office for more details.

Our group meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening at 8.00 pm with refreshments and the opportunity to catch up with each other, and finishes at 9.30.
We have looked at a variety of topics and this term we have been looking at the book of Esther, and this included a trip to see ‘Luv Esther’ and considering a talk by John Ortberg. This has certainly to some lively and challenging discussions on how the story impacts upon our lives today.
As well as a period of study we also have a time or prayer and worship where we may bring a wider variety of needs and thanksgiving to God.
All members of the Group are free to lead either the bible study, prayer or worship sections of the meeting, but this is certainly not compulsory.

We also hold socials once a term with the group led by Lyndon Price.

If you would like to know more, or come along to one of our meetings please catch me on a Sunday or contact Rachael in the Office for more details.

Claire Howard

We meet fortnightly on a Wednesday evening, from about 8.00 - 10.00 p.m., to encourage each other in the Christian faith. Activities include Bible study, worship, prayer, discussion, drinking tea / coffee and consuming seasonal food! (e.g., pancakes and mince pies).
The meetings are informal and participative - we try to relate the truths of the Bible to our everyday lives. There is opportunity to share items for prayer, both for people known to us and for ourselves.
In the summer we hold a social event, e.g., a barbecue.  In the Christmas season we gather for Carol singing at one of the local residential homes.
If you're thinking of coming to St. Mark's Church, maybe you'd like to see whether we are your cup of tea!

Sarah Prior - Jones

Jesus promised that ‘Where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them’ (Matt 18:20 NIV) and we have found this to be true.
We begin with tea or coffee and a brief chat, followed by some time in contemplative prayer or maybe someone will read a ‘thought for the week’, after which we begin our study of God’s word. Our aim is to draw closer to Him in our lives, through study, through the testimony, example and support of others and through prayer. It doesn’t matter how long or short a person’s relationship with Jesus has been, they always have something which can enrich the spiritual lives of others.
So why not come along and let us welcome you? We meet on alternate Wednesday evenings at my house (freshly vacuumed!)
Please call (01403) 274702 or email sprior_jones@hotmail.com for details.

Anne Rumney

Our Home Group meets twice a month on Wednesday evenings, 8.00- 9.30pm. After refreshments, when we catch up on our news, we have a time of worship and prayer for our concerns, ourselves and for our evening together. Then we settle down to some study, which may be on a particular topic or a book of the Bible.
There is always plenty of discussion and someone is sure to ask the question that others have thought about but not wanted to ask. We end the evening with quiet reflection to a piece of music.
The group is an ideal way to explore what it means to be a Christian and to grow in faith. It is a very supportive group and close friendships have developed; we would welcome anyone who wishes to join us.

Eunice Winn

We are a group of women gathering together each Thursday morning to study the bible and discuss its impact on our lives today.
We begin each week with a short time of worship - listening to music, or a reading, etc. followed by that week’s study and discussion, closing with a time of prayer.
Each person has the opportunity to lead the group, if they choose, and this enables us to greatly vary the format.
A crèche is available for young children and each week concludes with coffee and home made cake providing opportunity for chat and fun!
This is very much an open group and we would greatly encourage anyone wishing to come along.
